✪ Twenty (20) Testing Vials

SAFETY FIRST: All tests should be performed in a well-lit location with adequate ventilation. Reagents contain corrosive chemicals that can damage skin and eyes, wear nitrile or latex gloves, and eye protection. Do not inhale the reagents. For proper clean up, use plenty of water and baking soda to neutralize any spills. In order to prevent cross-contamination, never have more than one reagent bottle open at a time. Putting the wrong cap on the wrong reagent bottle may ruin them.

Begin with a clean surface such as a white ceramic plate or the bottom of a ceramic mug or the provided testing vial if not available. For PILL or POWDER form, cut off a tiny piece (no bigger than a of a grain of sand) and place it on the plate, mug or vial. For LIQUID form, place one drop on a piece of unbleached paper and dry it before proceeding with the test.

Remove the reagent bottle from the green child-resistant container. Remove the cap and turn the bottle upside-down two inches over the powder . Roll the bottle side to side and one drop will drip onto the substance. Do not let the dropper bottle touch the substance as it can contaminate the bottle of reagent. Immediately replace the cap and put back in the child-resistant container.

Observe the color change right away and discard any observations after two minutes. Use our Prism Reagents iOS App or the included reaction chart to compare the reaction and evaluate your substance.

Our reagents consist of strong acids with other dangerous chemicals and will burn skin and clothing. Keep out of eyes and mouth. Eye protection and gloves MUST be worn when handling the bottle and cap.  If you come in contact with any reagent, immediately remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly wash skin with soap and water. Wash testing surfaces with soap and water as well. Dispose of any unwanted reagent down the sink with plenty of running water and baking soda. Store all testing kits in the provided green child-resistant container in a cold, dark place such as a refrigerator between use.
